This option allows logging levels to be set within the system and is used for troubleshooting purposes. It should be used only on the advice of the iB Solutions implementation team, otherwise if should be set to Off. The program allows server side logging functionality within the eSeries framework to be view and configured.
While logging is turned on, a considerable number of log messages are generated which will impair the response times and performance of the Integra eSeries. A red flag will appear in the program title bar to alert you that logging is turned on. Clicking on the red flag will take you directly to the logging configuration screen where log targets can be removed.
When you select the Logging Administration option from the Menus/Admin Tools command list, the Show Log Files screen will be displayed and will list the Log Files along with the file size and date/time.
Use the Refresh
button to refresh
the list
Use the Export
button to export the log file to an archive area -
you will be prompted to specify a location for the exported files. Occasionally
you will be asked to send an export file onwards to allow problems to
be identified.
Use the Delete
button to removes
all log files not currently in use.
Select a Log File Name to open the View Log File screen where the contents of the log file will be shown.
Click Configure to go to the Logging Admin screen to see a list of the available log targets and the current level configured against each target.
The Logging Admin screen shows a list of the available log targets and the current level configured against each target. The log levels can have one of three settings
On: all log statements will be output to the log file.
Off: all log statements will be disabled for the selected file.
Inherit: log statements will be output if any parent logger has been enabled.
If a target shows either On or Off without an icon to the left of the level, this indicates that the setting has not yet been saved. To save the currently selected levels, click the Apply command button. To disable all current loggers, click the Switch Off command button. Logging can also be enabled for a target by double clicking on the target row.
The Status shows the number of loggers that have a status of either On or Off. The drop-down list beside the Filter field can be used to confine the number of displayed targets to those which are set to either On or Off. Entries can be made in the Filter field itself to limit the log targets displayed. If you enter sls for example and tab off the field, only targets relevant to the SLS Sales Management System will be shown.
